Over the past seven seasons, the fairly new Durban Collegians Youth Rugby Club has gone from strength to strength, and look set to ensure a revival of Durban Collegians’ glory days, at senior level, in the not-too-distant future.
The 2015 season saw Collegians dominate with many of our players achieving provincial colours representing the KZN Duiker squad at the Inter-Provincial Tournament that was held in JHB at the end of last years season.
Spectator interest in colt’s rugby, and specifically the Durban Collegians Colts, has shown swift growth, with more than half a dozen highly exciting DRSU Youth Club Rugby days staged annually from the end of June through to October at various venues in and around Durban.
The 2016 junior club rugby season is almost upon us and as a new committee; our mission is to make it memorable for all the right reasons.
We will have 2 registration evenings this season, the first one being on Wednesday 8 June 2016 and the second a week later on the 15th. Practice will take place on both registration evenings, starting at 18h00 sharp and continuing to 19h30.
Junior rugby at Collegians is moving with the times and will be handling registration slightly differently this year. The registration process has been moved to an online form where you can submit all your info electronically. We will then print your forms out and have it all ready for parents to sign at the first practice.
Player Registration online form can be found here –
The fixtures & venues for the upcoming Colts 2016 season will be posted at a later stage once the Durban Rugby Sub Union Youth Club Rugby Association has announced the schedule.
Dress code – Please take note that no school colours will be allowed at practice, this includes jerseys, t-shirts, shorts, and socks. We are after all Collegians, and our colours are Black and Red (Nothing else matters).
Can I please ask parents to extend an invite to friends to join Collegians Colt Rugby. Simply share this web page with anyone that you feel may be interested.
The Subs for 2016 will be R550 for the season (Take advantage of our early bird discount, by paying R500 before 8th June 2016). Subs include your DRSU registration fee, Warm Up Shirt and a pair of playing Socks. You can also make an arrangement to pay your subs off.
