SA Home Loans Durban Collegians Rugby Club is one of the top two premier rugby clubs in KwaZulu-Natal. It is conveniently situated across the road from the Moses Mabhida Stadium, on the outer fields of Growth Point Kings Park Stadium which is also home to the Kings Park Virgin Active, Kings Park Medical Centre and Tiger Tiger night club. Because of the Club’s prime location, it sees a large volume of foot traffic on a daily basis, adding even more visibility to our field signage. The Club’s grounds are also easily accessible and boast an array of amenities which are visible from multiple vantage points. For these reasons and more, advertising space here is a financially viable and lucrative option for companies looking to invest a portion of their ad spend on outer field signage in order to drive brand awareness.
The Sharks host a total of fourteen games per season – eight Super Rugby games and six local Currie Cup games – which attract an average attendance of 20 000 visitors per game to the stadium. These fixtures do not include semi-finals, finals and the annual Springbok test match which attracts an attendance of around 40-50 000 fans on average. In addition to this, SA Home Loans Durban Collegians host over 600 permanent parkers during the Sharks rugby season where they enjoy pre and post-match festivities on the fields as well as in the Club’s main bar, The Red Card Corner, long after the games are done. SA Home Loans Durban Collegians Rugby Club also hosts seven premier division Senior club rugby home games, as well as a considerable number of Junior rugby fixtures throughout the year. These fixtures draw an average attendance of 250-500 people per event, depending on the importance of these games, which does inflate these estimates quite substantially. Therefore, going by these statistics, potential advertisers can expect their branding to be seen by a combined average of 400 000, direct and indirect consumers per year which will ultimately assist in boosting the brand image, brand equity and brand recognition of the respective advertisers.
